PRIVACY POLICY
Personal data (hereinafter mostly referred to only as “data”) is processed by us only to the extent necessary and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly website, including its content and the services offered there.
Under Art. 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to only as “GDPR (DSGVO)”), “processing” means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, with or without the aid of automated procedures, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.
With this privacy policy we inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration and legal basis of the processing of personal data, insofar as we decide on the purposes and means of the processing either alone or jointly with others. In addition, we inform you below about the third-party components that we use for optimisation purposes and to improve the quality of use, insofar as third parties process data under their own responsibility.
Our privacy policy is structured as follows:
I. Information about us as controllers
II. Rights of users and data subjects
III. Information on data processing
I. Information about us as controllers
The provider of this website within the meaning of data protection law is:

II. Rights of users and data subjects
With regard to the data processing described in more detail below, users and data subjects have the right
- to confirmation of whether data concerning them is being processed, to information about that data, to further information about the data processing, and to copies of the data (see also Art. 15 GDPR (DSGVO));
- to rectification or completion of inaccurate or incomplete data (see also Art. 16 GDPR (DSGVO));
- to the immediate erasure of data concerning them (see also Art. 17 GDPR (DSGVO)) or, alternatively, where further processing is necessary under Art. 17(3) GDPR (DSGVO), to restriction of processing in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR (DSGVO);
- to receive the data concerning them, which they have provided, and to have that data transmitted to other providers/controllers (see also Art. 20 GDPR (DSGVO));
- to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if they believe that the data concerning them is processed by the provider in breach of data protection provisions (see also Art. 77 GDPR (DSGVO)).
In addition, the provider is obliged to inform all recipients to whom it has disclosed data of any rectification or erasure of data, or restriction of processing, carried out under Art. 16, Art. 17(1) and Art. 18 GDPR (DSGVO). This obligation does not apply, however, if such notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Regardless of this, users have a right to information about these recipients.
Users and data subjects also have the right under Art. 21 GDPR (DSGVO) to object to the future processing of data concerning them, insofar as the provider processes the data under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO). In particular, an objection to data processing for the purpose of direct marketing is permitted.III. Information on data processing
Your data processed when you use our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, provided that the deletion of the data is not opposed by statutory retention obligations and no different information is given below for individual processing procedures.
Cookie Manager
To obtain consent to the use of cookies on the website that are not technically necessary, the provider uses a cookie manager.
When you visit the website, a cookie containing your settings is stored on your device, so that the consent query does not need to be repeated on a later visit.
The cookie is required in order to obtain the user’s consent in a legally compliant way.
The user can prevent or stop the installation of cookies through the settings of their browser.
Cookiesa) Session cookies/Session cookies
We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your device by the internet browser you use. Through these cookies, certain information about you is processed to an individually varying extent, such as your browser or location data or your IP address.
This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective and secure, because it enables, for example, the display of our website in different languages or the offer of a shopping cart function.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (DSGVO), insofar as these cookies process data for the initiation or performance of a contract.
If the processing does not serve the initiation or performance of a contract, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. The legal basis is then Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO).
These session cookies are deleted when you close your internet browser.
b) Third-party cookies
Cookies from partner companies with which we work for the purposes of advertising, analysis or the functionality of our website may also be used on our website.
Please refer to the information below for details, in particular on the purposes and legal bases of the processing of such third-party cookies.
c) Options to remove cookies
You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies through a setting in your internet browser. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored at any time. The steps and measures required for this depend on the internet browser you use. If you have questions, please use the help function or documentation of your internet browser, or contact its manufacturer or support. For so-called flash cookies, however, processing cannot be prevented through the browser settings. Instead, you must change the setting of your Flash Player. The steps and measures required for this also depend on the Flash Player you use. If you have questions, please also use the help function or documentation of your Flash Player, or contact the manufacturer or user support.
If you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, not all functions of our website may be fully usable.
Contact enquiries / Contact options
If you contact us by contact form or email, the data you provide will be used to process your enquiry. Providing the data is necessary to process and answer your enquiry – without it, we cannot answer your enquiry, or can only answer it to a limited extent.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (DSGVO).
Your data will be deleted once your enquiry has been fully answered and no statutory retention obligations oppose deletion, for example in the case of a subsequent contract performance.
Online job applications / Publication of job advertisements
We offer you the option of applying to us via our website. For these digital applications, we collect and process your applicant and application data electronically in order to handle the application procedure.
The legal basis for this processing is Section 26(1) sentence 1 BDSG in conjunction with Art. 88(1) GDPR (DSGVO).
If an employment contract is concluded after the application procedure, we store the data you submitted with your application in your personnel file for the purposes of the usual organisational and administrative process – of course, subject to further legal obligations.
The legal basis for this processing is also Section 26(1) sentence 1 BDSG in conjunction with Art. 88(1) GDPR (DSGVO).
If an application is rejected, we automatically delete the data submitted to us two months after the rejection has been notified. However, deletion does not take place if statutory provisions, for example the burden-of-proof obligations under the AGG (General Equal Treatment Act), require the data to be stored for longer, up to four months or until legal proceedings have concluded.
In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO) and Section 24(1) No. 2 BDSG. Our legitimate interest lies in defending or enforcing legal claims.
If you expressly consent to your data being stored for longer, for example for inclusion in an applicant or prospective candidate database, the data will be processed further on the basis of your consent. The legal basis is then Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (DSGVO). Of course, you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by declaration to us under Art. 7(3) GDPR (DSGVO).
Server data
For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable website, data is transmitted by your internet browser to us or to our web hosting provider. These so-called server log files record, among other things, the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you switched to our website (referrer URL), the website(s) of our website that you visit, the date and time of the respective access, and the IP address of the internet connection from which our website is used.
This data is stored temporarily, but not together with other data about you.
This storage is based on the legal basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO). Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality and security of our website.
The data is deleted after seven days at the latest, unless further retention is required for evidentiary purposes. Otherwise, the data is excluded from deletion in whole or in part until the incident has been finally resolved.
To promote our products and services and to communicate with prospective or existing customers, we operate a company presence on the Facebook platform.
On this social media platform, we are jointly responsible with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland.
Facebook’s data protection officer can be reached via a contact form:
https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/540977946302970
We have set out the joint responsibility in an agreement on the respective obligations within the meaning of the GDPR (DSGVO). This agreement, which sets out the mutual obligations, can be accessed via the following link:
https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum
The legal basis for the processing of personal data reproduced below is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO). Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis and communication, and in the sale and promotion of our products and services.
The legal basis may also be the user’s consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (DSGVO) given to the platform operator. The user can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future under Art. 7(3) GDPR (DSGVO) by notifying the platform operator.
When the user accesses our online presence on the Facebook platform, Facebook Ireland Ltd., as the operator of the platform in the EU, processes the user’s data (e.g. personal information, IP address, etc.).
This user data is used to provide statistical information on the use of our company presence on Facebook. Facebook Ireland Ltd. uses this data for market research and advertising purposes and to create user profiles. On the basis of these profiles, Facebook Ireland Ltd. can, for example, show users advertising based on their interests, both within and outside Facebook. If the user is logged in to their Facebook account at the time of the visit, Facebook Ireland Ltd. can also link the data to that user account.
If the user contacts us via Facebook, the personal data entered by the user on that occasion will be used to process the enquiry. The user’s data will be deleted by us once the enquiry has been fully answered, unless statutory retention obligations, for example in the case of a subsequent contract performance, oppose deletion.
Facebook Ireland Ltd. may also set cookies to process the data.
If the user does not agree to this processing, they can prevent the installation of cookies through a corresponding setting in their browser. Cookies that have already been stored can also be deleted at any time. The settings for this depend on the respective browser. For flash cookies, processing cannot be prevented through the browser settings, but only through the corresponding setting of the Flash Player. If the user prevents or restricts the installation of cookies, not all functions of Facebook may be fully usable.
Further information on the processing activities, how to prevent them, and how to delete the data processed by Facebook can be found in Facebook’s data policy:
https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation
It cannot be ruled out that the processing by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited also takes place via Meta Platforms, Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA.
General links to profiles on third-party platforms
The provider places links on the website to the social networks listed below.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO). The provider’s legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of use of the website.
The plug-ins are integrated via a linked graphic. Only when the user clicks the corresponding graphic are they redirected to the service of the respective social network.
After the user is redirected, the respective network collects information about the user. This initially includes data such as IP address, date, time and the page visited. If the user is logged in to their user account on the respective network at the time, the network operator may be able to assign the information collected during that specific visit to the user’s personal account. If the user interacts via a “Share” button of the respective network, this information may be stored in the user’s personal user account and possibly published. If the user wants to prevent the collected information from being assigned directly to their user account, they must log out before clicking the graphic. It is also possible to configure the respective user account accordingly.
The provider has linked the following social networks:
Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland.
Privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php
“Facebook” social plug-in
On our website we use the plug-in of the social network Facebook. Facebook is an internet service of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland.
If you have given your consent to this processing, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (DSGVO). Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO) may also be the legal basis. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website.
Facebook provides further information on the available plug-ins and their respective functions at
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/
If the plug-in is embedded on one of the pages of our website that you visit, your internet browser downloads a display of the plug-in from Facebook’s servers in the USA. For technical reasons, Facebook needs to process your IP address for this. The date and time of your visit to our website are also recorded.
If you are logged in to Facebook while visiting one of our websites with the plug-in, Facebook can recognise the information collected by the plug-in about your specific visit. Facebook may assign the information collected to your personal Facebook user account. So if you use Facebook’s “Like” button, for example, this information is stored in your Facebook user account and may be published via the Facebook platform. If you want to prevent this, you must either log out of Facebook before visiting our website, or use an add-on for your internet browser to prevent the Facebook plug-in from loading.
Facebook provides further information on the collection and use of data, as well as your related rights and protection options, in the privacy information available at
https://www.facebook.com/policy.php

The provider uses “Emarsys” to send newsletters. “Emarsys” is a service of Emarsys eMarketing Systems AG, Munich.
Further information on data protection at Emarsys:
https://www.emarsys.com/de/datenschutzrichtlinie/.
c) Visitor and newsletter analysis
The newsletters sent by the provider via “Emarsys” contain technologies by means of which the provider can tell, in its analyses, whether and when an email was opened and which links in the newsletter the user followed.
Emarsys also uses cookies. These cookies are used to recognise the user again, so that movements on the provider’s website can be tracked and the success of certain marketing measures can be recorded.
The newsletters sent by the provider via “Emarsys” also contain technologies by means of which the provider can tell, in its analyses, whether and when an email was opened and which links in the newsletter the user followed.
This analysis data is stored by the provider alongside the technical data (system data and IP address), so that the newsletters can be optimally aligned with the user’s wishes and interests. The data collected in this way is therefore used to improve the quality of the newsletters continuously.
d) Legal basis
The legal basis for sending the newsletter and for the analysis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (DSGVO).
e) Withdrawal
The user can withdraw their consent to the processing of data in connection with the newsletter registration at any time with effect for the future under Art. 7(3) GDPR (DSGVO), by notifying the provider or by using the unsubscribe link contained in the newsletter.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics on our website. This is a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to only as “Google”.
The Google Analytics service is used to analyse the usage behaviour of our website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO). Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our website.
Usage and user-related information, such as IP address, location, time or frequency of visits to our website, is transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. However, we use Google Analytics with a so-called anonymisation function. With this function, Google shortens the IP address already within the EU or the EEA.
Google uses the data collected to provide us with an analysis of visits to our website and of the activity on it. This data may also be used to provide further services related to the use of our website and of the internet.
Google states that it does not combine your IP address with other data. Google also provides further data protection information, including on the options for preventing data use, at
https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners
Google also offers a so-called deactivation add-on, with further information on it, at
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
This add-on can be installed in common internet browsers and gives you further control over the data that Google collects when you access our website. The add-on tells the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that information about your visit to our website should not be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, this does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services. Whether and which other web analytics services we use is, of course, also stated in this privacy policy.
CloudFlare
To protect our website and to optimise loading times, we use the CloudFlare service as a so-called CDN (content delivery network). This is a service of Cloudflare Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, California 94107, USA, hereinafter referred to only as “CloudFlare”.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO). Our legitimate interest lies in the secure operation of our website and in its optimisation.
When you access our website, your requests are routed through CloudFlare’s server. Statistical access data about your visit to our website is collected in the process, and CloudFlare stores a cookie on your device via your internet browser. The access data includes
– your IP address,
– the website(s) of our website that you accessed,
– the type and version of your internet browser,
– the operating system you use,
– the website from which you switched to our website (referrer URL),
– your length of stay on our website, and
– the frequency with which you access our pages.
CloudFlare uses the data for the statistical analysis of access and for the security and optimisation of the service.
If you do not agree to this processing, you can prevent the installation of cookies through the corresponding settings in your internet browser. Details can be found above under “Cookies”.
CloudFlare provides further information on the collection and use of data, and on your rights and options for protecting your privacy, at
https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
Google Fonts
We use Google Fonts on our website to display external fonts. This is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to only as “Google”.
To enable certain fonts to be displayed on our website, a connection to a Google server in the USA is established when you access our website.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO). Our legitimate interest lies in the optimisation and economic operation of our website.
Through the connection to Google established when you access our website, Google can determine from which website your request was sent and to which IP address the font is to be transmitted.
Google provides further information, in particular on the options for preventing data use, at
https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated
https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA on our website to check and prevent interactions on our website by automated access, for example by so-called bots. This is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to only as “Google”.
This service allows Google to determine from which website a request is sent and from which IP address you use the so-called reCAPTCHA input box. In addition to your IP address, Google may collect further information that is necessary to provide and secure this service.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO). Our legitimate interest lies in the security of our website and in defending against unwanted automated access in the form of spam or similar.
Google provides further general information on how it handles your user data at
https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Maps
We use Google Maps on our website to display our location and to provide directions. This is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to only as “Google”.
To enable certain fonts to be displayed on our website, a connection to a Google server in the USA is established when you access our website.
When you access the Google Maps component built into our website, Google stores a cookie on your device via your internet browser. To display our location and create directions, your user settings and data are processed. We cannot rule out that Google uses servers in the USA for this.
If you have given your consent to this processing, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (DSGVO). Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO) may also be the legal basis. Our legitimate interest lies in optimising the functionality of our website.
Through the connection to Google established in this way, Google can determine from which website your request was sent and to which IP address the directions are to be transmitted.
If you do not agree to this processing, you can prevent the installation of cookies through the corresponding settings in your internet browser. Details can be found above under “Cookies”.
Furthermore, the use of Google Maps and of the information obtained through Google Maps is subject to the Google Terms of Use https://policies.google.com/terms?gl=DE&hl=de and the Terms of Service for Google Maps https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/help/terms_maps.html.

GOOGLE search function (“CSE”)
To provide full-text search on the website, we use the “Google Custom Search Engine” (“CSE”). “CSE” is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter “Google”.
“CSE” enables a full-text search of content on our website. Access to this search function is provided via a search box “Google Custom Search”.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (DSGVO). Our legitimate interest lies in the user-friendliness of the website.
The function is integrated on our website as an unchanged software module from Google. When a search is activated by entering a search term, Google loads the requested information by means of a plug-in. At the same time, the terms entered by the user and the user’s IP address are transmitted to Google in order to carry out the search and display the search results.
If the user is logged in to an existing Google account at the time of the search, Google may assign the information collected to the associated user profile.
Further information, in particular on the options for preventing data use, is provided by Google at the following links:
